It's about time I got my blog up and going again!! Meet these cool cats! Dayton showed up with his big boy gloves on and ready to party. He is a lot like his dad and not so super excited about pictures being done. I bet you couldn't tell, could you?? No seriously, you couldnt....They talk a lot of talk but then just laugh and have fun the whole session. They crack me up! This is a family of all natural posers ... I literally tell them to stand in front of a pile of logs and they magically all hit a perfect pose.

This 1950s themed wedding was a dream come true for me. If you know me... I am in love with vintage. Carla and I both are!! This day in November Carla and Mike said I do in downtown Beloit, in one of the best locations ever! This building was once owned by her grandfather. It was an antique store that had been in the family for generations. The only thing left in the empty building was the staircase where Carla shared so many wonderful memories with her Grandpa. She said her whole childhood was pretty much right on that staircase. I mean come one people...this location does not get any better then this! Carla always had a dollhouse that sat at the end of the staircase and on their wedding day you could see her grandfathers photo sharing in on a special moment in her life.
Someone else also shared in on her special day. Someone that was very tiny and very special, probably not even bigger then a banana at that point. Carla was once told that she would never be able to have children. To her wonderful surprise that was not the case. And in a few days from now that little baby will be making an appearance!! I am so happy for their family. It is times like these I smile from the inside out and I can say I truly love my job because of beautiful people like these. You might know that this happened! Jaimie said YES!!
Mike was nervous, but I swear I was more nervous then him! HAHA! Really though, I was. This was magical day where Jaimie thought we were only doing family pictures. That day turned into a proposal by Batman himself. OK so I was excited for all three of them and so happy that I was able to be there for this big event in their lives! As you can see we were all in the bat cave for the proposal....and it was awesome!! OHhhhhh and in case you didnt know this already Jaimie and Mikes little boy...is Batman in the flesh. hehe love it I love these 3...and soon to be 4!! Jordan grew up like my brother from another mother....it probably wouldn't surprise you that he also tortured me like any big brother would.
After my boudoir photo sessions I was able to capture this sexy beast, haha! This is my husband and he is probably going to kill me for posting these....but come on, too funny not to share!!!
We were sitting around while our daughter was asleep and I was thinking of how funny it would be if dudes posed like girls do for their boudoir pictures. I had no idea that another photographers dudoir was going to be so popular at the time! Now its a thing! Who knew!! hahahaha I am cracking up. I wish I would have spent more time posing and lighting this guy...but these images still make me smile and since I can't share my girly ones....here you go! Like always I was a little bit nervous meeting this new couple, as I sat there in the middle of downtown Cuba. Cuba..... there were people out on the streets at 7:30am...who does that!? And they were all staring at me because I was the weirdo in town, later finding out I had no idea how to park like a Cuban.
Mariah and Michael met up with me and it was instant... I loved them. They just were real! It was cold as cold but we just laughed it off and Michael had probably the best sense of humor just making Mariah and me laugh the entire time. It is a rare occasion when you can actually find a boy that will have fun during a photo session. Mariah told me of their wedding details...outdoors, live music, and tons of tulips. I think my heart will cry tears of joy!! Cannot wait for their spring wedding! Like I said, this girl is fierce. Every single pose, nailed it! Kylie is one of the girls that went to Norton High...well still does, but she also went there when I was the Jr. High art teacher. I didn't get to have the pleasure of having in her in class but always just heard the greatest of things about her.
The morning was full of love with lots of gigglys with Mother and Daughter. We chatted, adventured, and discovered! I have to tell you Kylie's mom has a good eye for backdrops! We found an old truck, that I literally have seen almost everyday of my life for years now....totally went right over my head as a location...proabably because it was right in front of my face the whole time, hahaa!! And yes...we went off roading to discover some of these other locations! Kylie is an artist...she even won artist of the year last school year! I don't know if you you all know this...but you have to be pretty dang good to win that award!! Norton is full of talented young artists, so yea she's amazing!! She also is amazing at cheer....as I have seen from the numberous videos posted by her mom. Thank you both for letting me be apart of Kylie's senior year!! Just wanted to take the time to wish you all a Merry Christmas!!!!! Thank you all so much for the beautiful year!! Hope to make 2016 even more beautiful!! Don't forget to check out my 2016 goals for a FREE SESSION!! (click here)
This family of wild boys had us all running around to keep up with them. Liam wasn't quite sure about the whole experience so we had to find a hidden treasure of cider and popcorn balls to keep the partying rolling. Im pretty much crack up at these little boys the whole time while their Daddy tried to keep them in line. Loved every minute of our time together from mountain climbing to the melt downs. :) After all we have to keep it interesting!
2016 is approaching!! Thought I would get my photography goals out there for the new year and see if my beautiful followers could help me out. The 1st 2 goals are pretty important to me...I have been dreaming of the 1st for years!!! and the 2nd since the birth of my baby girl this past summer! :) I am a mad fool for lifestyle sessions, A MAD FOOL!!!!! The problem is nobody wants to let me into their home for these intimate, real life, everyday moments. SOOO... here is my crazy deal for you!! I show up at your house... and whats this!? ....you dont even have to get out of bed?!!!... I just capture your daily life! YOUR REAL MOMENTS! None of that fake posing stuff here...just me acting like a creeper, taking pictures, and hiding behind those curtains of yours. hahaha!! *lifestyle sessions must be done in/and around your home *Lifestyle sessions don't have to be families...they could be couples, the birth of your child, grandparents, and more! lifestyle session are beautiful.... which leads me into my ultimate lifetime goal and bucket list wish photographing a birth!!! Say what?! It will take a special mother to allow me in during this time...but what a wonderful day and moment to capture! If your like me (as the mom giving birth) you might be unsure of this whole let a stranger photograph me during birth idea. Which is why I am calling this my FRESH session ( I may or may not have stolen that name from another photographer). Fresh sessions are captured during 1st 48hours of your babies life in the hospital!! OR HOME BIRTH!!! Fresh sessions are a lot like my home lifestyle sessions but these will be shot in your hospital room. You, your baby, and family just being your happy selves!! I really wish I would have had one of these sessions done for my little one! yep, its true ...I am also a mad fool for the 1950's! These Boudoir sessions make for the perfect valentine gift!! Either as you the man buying one for her (come on we all like to look beautiful and get pictures of ourselves) or the perfect gift for him! ;)
boudoir sessions can also be done in your home! If I have enough inquires about these sessions...I am just going full blown out crazy with a whole set up!! Please, please, please email me (destinybowersphoto@gmail.com) if this is something you are interested in. Need at least 10 interested to move on with this game plan bucket list session...because its a big one! On this cold foggy morning we found beauty in our own backyard. This location could make any photographer scream with excitement! And believe it or not...this is the backyard where Savannah works! What?! We encountered lots of deer and excitement. It was all fun and games! Well up til the point Brooklyn tripped over some rugged terrain. What is a girl to do?
So happy that I was able to catch up with Andrea while capturing her family, and her cutest little girls!! They are just a couple of dolls! Couldnt get over Ellie's freckles and those eyes of Myas!! How can you take a bad picture of these two?? You cant! Ellie's stories were the best!! Ellie was pretty excited about the whole day telling me all the details of her outfit from the boots her daddy bought her to the spaghetti she had the night before with a side of green beans. ;) hahaha, she was cracking me up and driving her dad nutz. Loved every minute of capturing the Stephens.
